Family

Earlier this week, I visited with Eleanor’s daughter-in-law, Leona.  During the course of our visit, she wanted me to share with staff, how grateful she was for the excellent care Eleanor received while a resident at Knife River Care Center.  She stated that although she and her husband lived too far away to visit often, she felt confident that Eleanor was well taken care of, and treated with warmth and compassion.  Because of this belief, their emotional burden of not being able to physically see Eleanor as often as they would have liked, was greatly reduced.  She wanted me to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to all of you who contributed in making Eleanor’s final years pleasant and meaningful.

Additionally, I want to extend my thanks as well.  Each of you play an important role in enriching our resident’s lives.  Your jobs can be physically and emotionally exhausting, and yes, many times thankless.  But what you contribute is noticed and appreciated!  Keep up the good work!

This time of the year brings renewed thoughts of KRCC and the wonderful staff who so lovingly and capably cared for my mom for more than 2 ½ years. It has been almost a year since she left this earthly life and I want to take this opportunity to say one more time how much our family appreciated the care she received at KRCC during her entire stay. Mom had her good days and her very difficult days and through it all the nurses and CNAs consistently treated her caringly and respectfully – that is a great comfort to families. Mom loved getting daily phone calls and when it became impossible for her to get to the phone without assistance the caregivers of Harvest Lane were so kind in assisting us without making us feel like it was a bother, so I especially want to thank them for that.   From the gals at the front desk to the beauty salon (what a nice service for the residents!), to the activities staff, to the therapists, to the kitchen staff, housekeeping staff and volunteers, I want to say thank you all for providing the services you do in the way that you do.
